AFTER graduating from high school here in Spain, there are actually lots of choices you can have. It all depends on such factors as your location as well as the budget that you can have. If you do not come from Madrid but you originate in a place sucha as Costa Blanca, then there are different career choices for you. You may opt to study in a hotel school in Madrid and get a bachelor’s degree and then work for the hospitality industry in Spain and go to some awesome places such as nudist beaches or Ibiza. In short, you will not only have the financial rewards but you will also get personal satisfaction.

And once you have attained a bachelor’s degree in hotel management, you may even be pushed directly to a supervisory position after just about two months of internship at any beach resort along the Mediterranean coastlines of eastern and southern Spain. It is part of your duty to maintain that distinguished accreditation. Once your boss is impressed, in a year or two, you will be sent off back to Madrid or even to a Swiss hotel school for continuing studies so you can earn a master’s degree. Here in Switzerland, you will be able to learn multiple languages just like English and Dutch which are comonly used in your country because Spain has lots of English- and Dutch-speaking visitors each year. Also, because Switzerland’s home language is German, you will also be able to speak German.

But if you come from the inland and your passion is into farming, then you can always land a course at the Universidad de Madrid and get a bachelor’s degree in agronomy. If after some time after graduation, you have already supervised the family farm but still want to go to greener pastures, then you may apply online to big farm companies in the United States such as Monsanto. But first, you need to hone your degree and so you must take a master’s degree as well as a doctorate in agronomy here in Spain. And you can take them online in United States-based colleges so your potential employers will be impressed. Prior to these undertakings though, you need to pass first the entrance exams of these colleges even though they are just online ones. They still maintain their integrity intact after all and that’s what makes them all the more reputable and appealing to potential employers such as Monsanto.

Even taking an English bachelor’s degree here at the Universidad de Madrid can be appealing of itself. All you need to do is pass the Teaching of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) in all its three stages – the basic, intermediate and advanced – and you can be certified as an instructor of acquisition of English as a second language.
